Inspired by nature, designed for today's workspace.
Founded in Belgium in 2014 by Sadig Alakbarov, Greenmood creates the 100% natural acoustic solution for modern interiors.
Using specially preserved moss, cork, and plants to reduce noise pollution, improve well-being, and bring a low-maintenance biofilm aesthetic to professional spaces.
Today, Greenmood is one of the world's most recognized manufacturers and exporters of biophilic design solutions.
We have offices in Belgium, France, North America, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Poland, Romania, and Azerbaijan, and export our products to more than 20 countries around the world.
Our mission has always been the same: to bring nature indoors, while minimizing our environmental footprint from raw materials to delivery.
What is biofilmic design and why is it important?
‘The word “biophilia” was first used by philosopher and psychoanalyst Erich Fromm to describe "a passionate love for life and all living things.
This concept was further developed by biologist Edward O. Wilson, who emphasized the deep connection between humans and nature in his book Biophilia.
Biophilic design is a hands-on design approach that integrates elements of nature into man-made environments.
This design increases health, happiness, and productivity while reducing stress, anxiety, and absenteeism.
In short, it makes people feel better and work better.
Impact on our lives
Biophilic design has a measurable impact on well-being:
- Increase productivity by up to 151 TP3T.
- Increases Creativity by 151 TP3T.
- Relieves stress and lowers blood pressure.
- Improve mood, motivation, and resilience.
- Reduce absenteeism and inefficiency.
1 billion
Annualized losses due to inefficient working in the UK
(1.3 times higher than absenteeism)
$200+ billion
Productivity losses due to poor well-being in the U.S. workplace
Redesigning a space with biofilmic elements is the most realistic way to address these issues.
Sustainability
Nature is our material, and it's our mission.
We only use renewable and biodegradable materials such as cork, moss, paper, and leaves.
All green plants are preserved through an eco-friendly, chemical-free process and require no water, light, or pruning.
We also minimize our environmental impact by keeping our supply chain short and transparent through local European partners and responsible logistics systems.
Acoustic Science
Natural tranquility, proven performance.
Our products aren't just decoration - they naturally reduce ambient noise.
Cork and preserved moss provide certified sound absorption tested to ISO 11654:1997 standards by a professional acoustical laboratory.
Harmoniously combining form, material, and function to deliver natural acoustic comfort without synthetic foam or fiberglass.
