Many Greenmood products use the species “Cladonia Stellaris”. This is the most commercially used lichen, commonly known as Reindeer Moss. It is actually not a moss, but a lichen, a symbiosis of fungi and algae, and is a subspecies of reindeer lichen. It absorbs moisture from the air and gets its nutrients directly from it.
Reindeer moss grows in large mats in boreal and subarctic regions around the Arctic Circle. It grows on barren soil or gravel in coniferous forests and cannot be cultivated artificially.
Yes. Greenmood preserves real plants naturally through a special process that uses vegetable glycerin and food dyes. This process makes the plants last forever and requires no maintenance.
No. Greenmood products do not use any materials used in artificial plants, such as plastic or synthetic fibers. Therefore, all plants and moss are 100% natural.
During the preservation process, the plant's sap is replaced with glycerin, which is dyed with food dyes to get the color.
No. Greenmood's plants and moss are already preserved and should not be watered. It is a completely maintenance-free product that requires no care.
It can be used in any indoor space. However, the room humidity must not fall below 301 TP3T and not exceed 701 TP3T.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the color to fade after 2-3 years. We recommend avoiding this as much as possible. Also, don't place it near heating appliances. Glycerin is sensitive to heat.
No. All of Greenmood's products are made from non-toxic materials and are safe to touch. However, they are not edible.
Yes. Greenmood's products are designed to absorb sound in a natural way. When installed, they reduce ambient noise and maintain a comfortable sound level in the room. All acoustic reports can be found in the download folder.
Greenmood's materials have a very low contribution to fire, rated B-S2-d0 in Europe and FSI 0 / SDI 15 in North America. However, it is not a fully fireproof product - fire certificates can be found in the download folder.
In the right environment, Greenmood products can last up to 10 years. For more information, see the Declaration of Conformity in the download folder.
There may be a natural botanical scent, but it will fade over time.
They're not exactly the same - because we use natural plants, there may be slight differences in color or shape. This is a natural characteristic that makes each product unique.
If the humidity in your room drops during the winter due to lack of heating or ventilation, your moss can become dry. If this happens, avoid watering directly, and increase the humidity by ventilating frequently or using a humidifier. When the humidity returns to normal, the moss will absorb moisture from the air and soften again.
Because reindeer moss absorbs and releases moisture from the air, the dye may not be completely fixed. Slight color changes may occur over time, and exposure to direct sunlight can accelerate color fading. The color may also change with changes in humidity: higher humidity will darken the color and lower humidity will lighten it.
